Asososca Volcano Hike + Origin at Asososca Lagoon
Asososca is a brand new hike for 2018, so is more of an adventure, an untouched path. From the top of Asososca Volcano you can see the entire Maribios volcanic chain, plus Asososca Lagoon, Managua Lake and the Pacific Ocean. Asososca is a very steep hike. You should be medium-pro level for this hike.
Hiking time: 5 hours total
We leave León at 5am and drive around 1 hour to the starting point of the hike. We then hike for around 3 hours to the top of the volcano. At the top you will have plenty of time to relax, and take some photos of the stunning views.
After walking back down (around 2 hours), we have lunch at Asososca Lagoon, surrounded by nature, with the breathtaking view of the lagoon.
Then you can relax in a hammock, float in a tube, or go for a boat ride around the lagoon, taking in the view of the surrounding volcanoes. You may want to take some spare cash, as there is a bar selling ice-cold drinks here.
Then let the next adventure begin! Try out the Tarzan Swing, Canopy and Rappel at Origin Adventure Park, situated right next to Asososca Lagoon. Feel the rush as you fly through the air, in this beautiful setting.
We’ll watch the sunset, then return back to León around 7pm. You can check out the website here: www.originadventurepark.com.
